APTA CO Advocacy Day

"Stop the Ghosting"

January 27, 2027; 8 am - Noon

APTA Colorado’s most important events of the year: 2027 Advocacy Day on the Hill.

This year, we’re building momentum for our top legislative priority: eliminating ghost networks. These are provider directories that make health plans appear to offer broad coverage, even when listed clinicians no longer accept those plans—or have retired, moved, or closed their practices.

On paper, the network looks full. In reality, patients call and can’t get the care they need. Ghost networks create the illusion of access and give insurers an unfair advantage in payment negotiations.

Be part of the effort to make provider networks reflect reality—and help improve access to care for Coloradans.

Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants bring firsthand knowledge of how policies affect patients, practices, and communities. When you participate in advocacy through your APTA CO, you help ensure decision-makers hear from the people who deliver care every day.

By speaking together, PTs and PTAs can raise awareness of barriers to care, support policies that strengthen the profession, and help shape a health care system that better serves patients. Your participation—when you meet with legislators and share your experience — adds an important voice to the conversation.

Advocacy is one way to extend your impact beyond the clinic. Join your colleagues in making sure patients’ needs and the realities of practice are part of the policy discussion.

Your participation sends a message to legislators that this issue matters!  Join us on January 27th.
